I did the tutorials in the wrong order! This was much easier than UV'ing the sets, but it's great to be able to texture things with Photoshop again. (even though this was rather simple)
What If Metropolis? / Maya - Alvin Lustig Bottle
I made a (what looks like) Poison Bottle from one of Alvin Lustig's book covers! The style of the skull and crossbones reminds me of Spy vs. Spy.
Maya - Various Experimentation
The body and head I had created a few days into the course thus have the worst topology I think I've ever seen, although it was a lot easier to create the house. I created these before watching the relevant tutorials to see what I knew I couldn't do! Apparently it was more of a case of trying to work with Maya rather than against.
What If Metropolis? - Colour script doodles
Whilst researching into Lustig and his life it became apparent that he went blind quite early into his life. That however, did not stop him from creating book covers and would perfectly describe to his wife what he would in-vision so that she could create them for him! I want to have a theme of eyes somewhere into this city as a lot of his book covers also have eyes on them. Although, it's hard to do so without crazed conspiracy theorists in tinfoil hats declaring; triangles + eyes = Illuminati.
Maya Tutorial - Part 2: UV Layout & Texturing Preperation
Woo! Got there eventually. That method of UV'ing is so tediously long winded! I miss the simple days of Blender. (sigh)
